Privacy & Security
Last updated August 20, 2026
LazyLips is built by Nicolas Gregory Demanez, a self-employed independent (indépendant) in Belgium. We designed LazyLips to comply with the GDPR: we collect as little as possible, we don't store your voice recordings, and we don't sell or advertise against your data. Questions or requests go to nd@lazylips.app.
1. Information We Collect
To run your account, we collect your email and, if you set them, a username and avatar. While you dictate, your audio is processed in real time by a trusted third-party AI service to produce text — the audio itself is never stored on our servers, and it's not used to train that provider's models. That text becomes part of your dictation history, kept on your own device. Stripe handles billing; we never see your full card details. We also log basic technical data (IP address, device, timestamps) to keep the service secure.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve LazyLips
- Process your dictation and manage your account and billing
- Send essential service messages, like sign-in links and billing notices
- Provide support, prevent abuse, and meet our legal obligations
3. Data Storage & Security
Account data is stored with reputable cloud infrastructure providers based in the European Union, encrypted in transit and at rest. Your dictation history stored on your own device is encrypted too. We minimize what we store by design — your voice is never persisted on our servers — and access is limited to what's needed to run the service.
4. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and everything tied to it yourself, anytime, from Settings in the app — it takes effect immediately. Prefer email? Write to nd@lazylips.app and we'll do it for you within 30 days. Except where the law requires us to keep certain records longer, that's it — nothing lingers. Your dictation history lives on your device, encrypted, under your control — clear it anytime from within the app.
6. Your Rights Under the GDPR
If you're in the EU, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your personal data
- Port your data in a machine-readable format
- Object to certain processing of your data
To exercise any of these, email nd@lazylips.app — we'll respond within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; for Belgium, that's the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
8. Children's Privacy
LazyLips isn't intended for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children, and we'll delete it if we learn we have.
9. International Data Transfers
Some of our providers operate internationally. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to keep it protected to EU standards.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are announced by email or in the app; continuing to use LazyLips after a change means you accept it.
